The Share Fund, USA

The Share Fund is a non-profit organization (501c3) founded in San Francisco, California in 2001. The Fund’s objectives are to promote the understanding of indigenous cultures and support collaborative educational, cultural and sustainable economic development with indigenous and disadvantaged communities in Ecuador, Kenya and other developing countries. In 2003, a branch called La Fundación Share, was established in Ecuador under the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Donations to the Share Fund are tax deductible according to US law. 
Funds contributed in the US may be directed to projects in Ecuador through La Fundación Share.

* Mobile school program which provides educational opportunities to the Rendille, a semi-nomadic population in the northern desert of Kenya.



 

* Publication of a promotional brochure for Capirona, an indigenous community ecotourism project in Napo, Ecuador
* Promotion of indigenous art
* Construction of a community hostel in Ecuador
* Donations of computers and books and training workshops in computer use, health, accounting, cooking and hygiene in Tigua, Ecuador
